Here's what our YCD family members have been up to!
It’s Graduation Season!
YCD Graduates!
This summer, a few YCD staff members completed their courses, training programs, and exams with flying colors - awarding them new degrees and professional recognitions.
Congratulations to Keiyanna Chisom, Alyssa Williams and Crystal Brookter!
Keiyanna graduated from CSU-DH with a Bachelors in Human Resources, Alyssa completed the NCLEX exam and is officially a licensed Registered Nurse, and Crystal graduated from SJSU with a Master's in Social Work.
Shoutout to our graduates on this amazing accomplishment!
EPA JRT Graduation
Another cohort of EPA JRT participants successfully graduated! We celebrated their achievements at a graduation ceremony hosted by YCD and Hunters Point Family at the Southeast Community Center. 23 cohorts down, infinite possibilities ahead for our community!
Mother's Day Celebration
Black to the Future and Potrero Hill NJC hosted events to celebrate Mother's Day! Thank you to all of the amazing moms in our YCD community.
NJC CPR Training
As part of their Guard Card program, NJC hosted trainees at the YCD offices to complete CPR training. Participants learned life saving techniques and emergency medical preparedness protocols to better equip them for their future jobs as security guards.
Housing Expo
Our Housing Team recently tabled at the SF Housing Expo to share resources and programs for local renters and first-time homebuyers.
Housing Development Workshop
YCD team members attended a workshop hosted by ULI at Google to learn more about the housing development process. They participated in a team exercise to redevelop five city blocks. Congratulations to the winners, Unity Innovators! Shoutout to Monica and the housing team for organizing a great professional development opportunity!

Pride Month
June is Pride Month and we celebrate all our LGBTQIA+ community members! San Francisco will be hosting their annual pride parade along with several other events.
Juneteenth Celebrations
San Francisco and our communities are hosting a variety of local Juneteenth events. The San Francisco Juneteenth Parade is happening on June 8th. Keep an eye out on our social media for more info and events to attend and commemorate the end of slavery in the United States.
Potrero Hill NJC's Fathers's Day/Juneteenth
Potrero Hill NJC is hosting a Fathers's Day and Juneteenth event! Invite community members to the Community Room at 1101 Connecticut Street on June 19th to learn more about available resources and celebrate together with the community.
